Emergency Dentist in the Inner West

Leichhardt Dental – Pomare Dental Group Allow Time Everyday To See New And Existing Patients Who Have Pain, Problems Or Concerns

If a patient has a particular problem or concern, such as toothache, swelling, broken tooth or other dental emergencies, our friendly front office staff will first ask questions to help determine the cause and nature of the problem that requires emergency dental treatment.

This helps our staff to schedule a suitable emergency dentist appointment so our dentists have time to provide the best help possible.

Helping You

Usually our emergency dentist will need to have an initial consultation to assess the situation and advise of any options, their pros, cons and costs. It is unlikely that permanent treatment will done at this visit, but every endeavour will be made to ensure comfort and relief of pain. Think of it like calling the NRMA! We get our patients up and running again, but there may still be more work needed.

The initial emergency dentist consultation will involve an examination of the area of concern, any necessary photos and x-rays and depending on the problem, a temporary solution may be provided to relieve pain and ensure comfort.

At the conclusion of the dental emergency consultation, a full explanation of the problem and treatment options will be provided by our emergency dentist, along with their pros, cons and costs. This allows patients to decide what permanent treatment they may wish to proceed with.

Once this particular problem is resolved, we encourage all patients to return to Leichhardt Dental – Pomare Dental Group for a comprehensive examination and assessment of their overall oral health.

This is the best way to ensure our patients are given the best treatment, helping them to adopt preventive care measures and achieve optimal oral health, and not just focus on problems.

If you experience pain out of regular working hours, we suggest you take some pain relief and contact our emergency dentist in normal working hours, when we will arrange to see you as soon as possible.  Alternatively, if the pain is severe or there is bleeding and broken teeth, please seek treatment immediately and see your nearest medical emergency centre or emergency department at a hospital.
